Maria, I extend my deepest sympathy to you and your family over the loss of a wonderful guy. Part of Gil’s legacy will be the tough love he showed as he trained young security officers (rookies, sports, juniors… as he called them). Several of the young officers Gil molded into excellent public safety officers went on to have successful careers law enforcement. I think they will tell you the tough love they received and the training from Gil helped them in their careers. Gil was a great co-worker and friend (even though he was a Yankee fan). If I found a problem with a security issue at night, when Gil was made aware of the problem, he worked to get the problem solved quickly. Since he retired I miss our morning talks and his problem solving skills. Oh, yes, Mr. tough guy had the biggest heart of anyone I knew. Once again I am so very sorry for your loss.
