OBITUARIES
Frances (D'Amico) Verdi, 86, of New Britain, died early Wednesday morning at Cromwell Healthcare and Rehab. Born in Sicily, Italy, the daughter of the late Orocio and Josephine (Delgado) Verdi, she lived sixty years in New Britain and worked at New Britain General Hospital, retiring after twenty five years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church and the New Britain Senior Center. She was the widow of Paul Verdi.
Mrs. Verdi was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her son Salvatore and his wife Beverly Verdi of New Britain; her daughters
Mrs. Salvina Pizzi of Palm City, Florida and Frances and her husband Thomas Gerent of Berlin; her nine grandchildren, James and his wife Michelle Chute, Michael and his wife Jennifer Chute, Anthony Pizzi, Todd and Heather Verdi, Danielle and her husband Adam Salina, Salvatore Verdi, Jr. and his wife Heather, Tom Gerent, Jr., David Gerent, and Lisa and her husband Jonn Massirio, her fourteen great grand children, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends, especially Joe. She led a very active life, and loved her family, with whom she spent many happy occasions.
Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:00 A. M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church 195 So. Main St. New Britain. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery Garden Mausoleum.
Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospital of Central Connecticut
