OBITUARIES
Richard F. McCarthy, 83, of Berlin, died Saturday Night at an area convalescent home. Born in New Britain, the son of the late Edward and Helen (Brown) McCarthy, he lived many years in New Britain, moving to Berlin in the late 1970's. He attended local schools and served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He had been employed for over forty years at Pratt & Whitney Manufacturing Co. A parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in East Berlin, he was also a avid golfer and member of the Timberlin Senior Golf Group.
Mr. McCarthy is survived by his wife June (Bianco) McCarthy, a daughter Lynn Lewis of Guilford, a son Kevin and his wife Ursula McCarthy of Melrose, MA; two grandsons Sean and his wife Dawn Lewis of Altamonte Springs, FL and Adam Lewis of Somerville, MA and several nieces and nephews He was predeceased by two brothers Edward McCarthy Robert McCarthy and a sister Helen Bradlau.
Friends and family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church East Berlin. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery, East Berlin. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association
