Obituary of Laverne M. Finance

Obituary Laverne M. "Toots" Finance, 94, wife of the late William R. Finance, died March 19, 2009 at a local convalescent home. Born October 30, 1914 in New Britain, and lived in Newington for 48 years. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elisa (Steele) Ryan. Laverne devoted her life to teaching, and worked at the C.C.A.R.C. for many years. She is survived by her cousins; Faith and husband Robert Wallace of New Britain, Christine and husband Roland Caron of New Britain, and William Lumpp of New Britain, Claire and husband Ronald Burridge of Southington. She was also survived by two nieces: Jean and husband Richard Lasocki and Joan and husband Robert Larkin. Laverne was affectionately known as "Toots" by those who knew her. She referred to the patients and staff members at Ledgecrest Health Care as her adoptive family, and the family wishes to thank them for the wonderful care they provided for her the past 11 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:30 A.M. at St. Paul's Church in Kensington. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain. Friends may call at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq, New Britain on Monday morning from 10:00 to 11:00A.M.
