OBITUARIES Eleanor (Kulas) Swentusky, 96, of New Britain, died Tuesday morning at the Jerome Home in New Britain. Born in Pittsfield, Ma, the daughter of the late Valentine and Marianna Kulas, she was one of ten children and lived most of her life in New Britain. She was the widow of Felix Swentusky. During her career, she was employed at Landers, Frary & Clark, at Kolodney's Hardware Store and Electro-Mechanics. A member of St. Joseph's Church, she traveled extensively, having been to Hawaii seven times, was an avid gardener and her family was her whole life. Mrs. Swentusky is survived by her daughter Phyllis and her husband Thomas McMahon of Canton, her grandchildren James and his wife Mary Frawley, Michael and his wife Vicky Frawley, Keith McMahon, Karen and her husband Dan O'Flaherty and Colleen Grenier; her great grandchildren Benjamin and Sara Frawley, Brian, Timothy and Devin McMahon, Daniel and Shawn O'Flaherty and Meghan, Zachary and Hannah Grenier. She was predeceased by her daughter Barbara Swentusky. Funeral services will be held Friday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church 195 So. Main St. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. The family would like to thank the staff of the Jerome Home for their excellent care Eleanor received while living there.
