OBITUARIES
Vivian M. (Margentino) Rivers, 97, of Agawam., MA, formerly of New Britain and Southington, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009. Born in New Jersey, the daughter of the late George and Anna (Arata) Margentino, she lived most of her life in the New Britain-Southington area, moving to Agawam six years ago. She was the wife of the late George B. Rivers, who died Sept. 3, 1982. She was a former member of the Parents Association of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in New Britain, the Italian Junior League and St. Paul's Church in Kensington.
Mrs. Rivers is survived by her daughter Kathleen Garner and her husband Joseph of Longmeadow, MA; four grandchildren Kathleen Hendrick-Greco and her husband Michael, Jonathan Garner, Timothy Garner and his wife AnnMarie and Ann Garner; four great grandchildren Abigal and Kyle Garner, Jenna Hendrick and Tristen Greco; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter Judith Sliva and her brother Francis
"Butch" Margentino.
Funeral services will be held Saturday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Church, Kensington. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Western, MA, 264 Cottage Street, Springfield, MA 01104
