Obituary of Louise A. Loicano

Louise A. (Anthony) Loicano, 96, of New Britain, died Saturday at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Ralph and Maria (D'Avanzo) Anthony, she lived most of he life in New Britain. She was the wife of the late James Loicano.
She was a long time employee of General Equities, and prior to that Gulf Oil Corp in New Haven. She was a charter member of St. Maurice Church, a corporator and life member of the Boys and Girls Club of New Britain, a life member of the Hospital of Central Connecticut Auxiliary a member of the Hospital of Special Care Auxiliary, the Salvation Army Auxiliary, officer of the Catholic Daughters of America, and was a well known soloist at St. Joseph's Church and sang with the New Britain Music Club.
Louise is survived by her sister Josephine Anthony of New Britain, sister in law Vera Anthony of California and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sisters Elsie Jordan, Ann Lacava and her brother Alphonse Anthony.
A Memorial Mass will be Monday Feb. 2, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Maurice Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations, may be made to St. Maurice Church 100 Wightman Road New Britain, CT 06052 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
