Obituary of Lawrence Cyr

Lawrence (Larry) Cyr, 70, of Augusta, West Virginia passed away on May 1, 2016 at Hampshire Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family and dear friend.
Larry was born on August 13, 1945 in New Britain, CT to Joseph Arthur and Glentine (Raymond) Cyr. He attended EC Goodwin Technical High School and served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. Larry worked as a carpenter and foreman for Carpenter's Union Local 43 from 1979 to 2005. He retired, moved to West Virginia and fulfilled his dream of building his own log cabin. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson. He was a strong supporter of veteran's organizations and was dedicated to remembrance of Vietnam POWs. Larry will be remembered for his warm personality, sense of humor and "drive fast take chances" attitude.
He is survived by his two children Shelly Ragozzine and her husband Brian of Southington, CT and Brian Cyr and his wife Jennifer of Lufkin, TX; grandchildren Nicholas, Benjamin, Daniel, Clay, Lauren, Matteson and Whit. Besides his parents, Larry was predeceased by his sister Linda Thomas of Kennard, TX.

Family and friends may visit Saturday May 21, 2016 from 9:00-10:00 am in the Farrell Funeral Home New Britain, CT followed by a memorial service. Larry will be laid to rest alongside his parents at St. Mary's Cemetery in New Britain, CT. Donations may be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project
