Abigail Joan Dornfried Waida, Lovingly known as Gail, 55, of New Britain, CT passed
away into well deserved peace at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, on March
4th 2016 of MDS.
Gail was born in New Britain, CT on October 14, 1960. Gail graduated from Newington
High School and continued on to business school and worked as a full charge
bookkeeper.
Gail is survived by her loving children Cassandra Joan Waida, Danielle Joy Bielomyza
and her adoring Husband Matthew Bielomyza and Joseph John Waida. Her
grandchildren Chloe, Jason, Alexis, Madison and Haley.
Gail is also survived by her Brother Kent and Sister-in-law Sue Dornfried, Brother Mark
Dornfried and Sister-in-law Herica, her new niece Tiffany, her nephew Bryan Dornfried
and niece Amy Robinson and her Husband Kevin.
Gail is also survived by her brother Steve Coste and his wife Pam, sister Susan Coste
Lombardo, sister Marilyn Coste-Haney and brother-in-law Dave Haney, loving neice
Jessica Haney, nephew Zack Haney, niece Marie Coste, Shawna Glanovsky Coste and
Bob Coste, Jeannie, Mike and Sam Gagnon.
Gail is preceded in death by her mother Joan Smedley Dornfried, father John Lewis
Dornfried, second Mother Norma Coste Dornfried and brother Donald Coste.
And lastly a special thank you from my family to Elaine Shapiro and her Husband Mike
for without them my time with my bride during this battle would have been impossible.
To Sue Cunningham, your friendship lit her world up daily. Lastly, Savannah she went
peacefully knowing her baby boy was going to be happy forever, you soothed her heart
daily and you are her family. And there is a wonderful place that if not for existing I
would have never been available for Gail….one day at a time.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Dr.
Wylie Hosmer, and Special thanks to all Nurses and Caregivers who provided the care
that gave her dignity. To all who donate blood and platelets, you are gifts from heaven.
Funeral service will be held Saturday (March 12) 9:00 AM from the Farrell Funeral
Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St.
Peter's Roman Catholic Church 98 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Burial will be held privately.
Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral Home.
