Obituary of Patricia I. Reilly
Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Patricia Reilly, 61, of Farmington, CT passed away comfortably on February 18, 2016 after a long respiratory illness. She was born in Sharon, CT, raised in North Canaan and moved to the greater Hartford area after graduating from Bay Path Junior College in 1975. She worked over 30 years as a paralegal for the law firm of Robinson & Cole in Hartford until her disease progressed. Though she struggled with her disease for several years, she was able to maintain her independence with dignity.
The family is grateful for the friendship and support Pat received from friends and neighbors that made her life manageable over these last few years. Pat found joy in many simple things. She enjoyed trying new recipes, cooking with New England's fresh vegetables and topping her desserts with the area's finest seasonal fruits. She relished the beaches of Cape Cod and Gloucester and the family trips to New Jersey to visit the cousins. Growing up she enjoyed shopping with her Auntie Carm. Pat was known to enjoy a beautifully wrapped gift as much as the gift inside. She had many fond memories of her years in North Canaan and cherished her close friendship with TACK since their days in kindergarten.
Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Irene and her brother Bill Jr. She is survived by her brother Brian and his wife Anne (Stapleton) of Kensington and their sons Matthew and his wife Katie of West Hartford and Michael of New York City.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday (Feb.24,2016) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at Holy Spirit Church 183 Church St. Newington, CT. Pat will be laid to rest, privately, with her family in St. Joseph's Cemetery, No. Canaan, at a later date. Visitation will be Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association 45 Ash St. East Hartford, CT 06108.
