Dear Kathy and family. I am sad to learn of the death of your beloved father. For the few months I worked at the bank, I saw him as a kind, sweet gentleman. I hope that God will provide you comfort, and that you will treasure all the wonderful times and memories you were blessed with your Dad over the years. Much love to all of you. Begley family, As former friends & neighbors of your Dad, we'd like to add our condolences on the passing of a truly delightful man. Not only was I his neighbor in later years, but many, many, years before, a driving student of his. I could recount wonderful stories about that experience, and we laughed about it for years whenever we encountered each other. His smiling face, and twinkling eyes were always a welcome sight, and I hope your memories will sustain you as mine will me. He was a treasure. Sincerely, Pat & Sheldon Corrow (formerly of Tulip St.)

Some people enter our lives and beat a hasty retreat..often much to our delight. Others stay for awhile but they, too, soon depart and are quickly forgotten. Stiil others remain and simply become footnotes as we author our destinies. And, then, there are the Howard Begleys of the world, who leave an indelible mark on our lives. They are God's gift to us as an apology for sending us all the others we must tolerate. Sleep well, my friend. You've earned your rest. Thank you for being in my life. Joe Arnone (New Britain, CT)

My sincerest condolences to all of you in Howard's family. I was so blessed to get to know Howard at the Jefferson House over this past year at our Wednesday morning sing-alongs. He was a truly special man. I will miss his smiling face in the front row. Every time I sing the Tennessee Waltz I will think of Howard.

I am truly sorry for your loss. I had the occasion to bird hunt with Howie and his dad many years ago and I am not much of a bird hunter. I remember his dad walking off into the brush and in short order heard two shots. I asked Howie, do you think he missed? Howie said no, and in short time his dad came walking out of the brush with two birds. I remember Howie saying his dad grew up in the depression, if you missed, you didn't eat. That had to be 30 years ago. Teach a boy to hunt and you won't have to hunt for the boy. Mr. Begly's words. You not only lost a father, you lost a good friend. God bless.
