Joseph J. Alderuccio, 94, of Kensington, died Monday (Sept. 14, 2015) at the State Veteran's Hospital in Rocky Hill. Born in New Britain, the son of the late Caesar and Beatrice (Mezzio) Alderuccio, he lived in New Britain and Kensington his entire life. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army as a Sargent , in the 43rd Infantry Division, the 169th Infantry Regiment and I Company. He earned the Combat Infantry Badge, two Battle Stars and the Asiatic Pacific Medal in Guadalcanal, Munda Trail and Solomon Island. He retired from Emhart in 1983, as chief draftsman. Among his hobbies, Joe enjoyed reading, John Wayne Movies, Pawn Stars TV Show, crossword puzzles and he was a member of the VFW and DAV. He was a member of the Gas House Gang Mr. Alderuccio is survived by his daughter Diane Dwyer of Kensington, son Thomas J. Alderuccio of Thailand, a grandson Craig Dwyer of Kensington, a granddaughter Michelle Fetterman and her husband Jason of Berlin, granddaughter Lori Dwyer and her fiancé Woodie Stark; a brother James Alderuccio of Bristol and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Florence Sorice Alderuccio, brothers Frank, Angelo, John, and sisters Lucy, Sarah, Mary and Felice. He also leaves behind his favorite dogs Buttons, Pudgy and Luigi. Funeral services will be held Thursday (Sept. 17, 2015) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at St. Paul's Church, Kensington. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:30 AM until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veteran's 35 Cold Spring Rd #315 Rocky Hill.
