Jeanette (Ouellette) D'Amico, 89 of New Britain, died Wednesday (Sept. 9, 2015) at home, surrounded by her family. Born May 27, 1926, in Winslow, Maine, the daughter of the late Mary (LeVasseur) and Albert Ouellette, she was raised in Van Buren, Maine. A homemaker most of her life, she took great enjoyment raising her family and enjoyed reading, puzzles and her grandchildren. She was the wife of the late Albert D'Amico for 61 years and was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church for many years.
Mrs. D'Amico is survived by her children Thomas of Virginia, Maryann Welcome and her husband, James of Winsted, Davis and his wife, Gail of Barkhamsted , Dan and his wife, Sabine of New Britain, and Richard and his wife Carmena of Middlefield; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; a brother Philip Ouellette of Wethersfield, a sister Yvette Karpy of Plantsville and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday (Sept. 11, 2015) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church 195 So. Main St. New Britain. She will be buried at a later date with her husband, Albert, a World War II Veteran and survivor of Iwo Jima, in Arlington National Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 8:00 AM until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary Hospital Hospice, CT 06706.
