Obituary of Terance W. Martin

Terrance W. Martin, Sr., 82, of Middletown, died Friday (Aug. 21, 2015) at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. Born in New Britain, he lived many years in Middletown. He was a truck driver for 40 years with The First National Stores and Stop and Shop, retiring from the Teamsters Local 443. He was well known as an avid Horseman, having run The Ma Martin Roundup at the Berlin Fair for 63 years. He rode everyday on his special horse, Playboy, with his friend Melanie. He was a part time rodeo rider, a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association, a Gold Card Member of the American Rodeo Association, the Connecticut Trail Riders Association, the Granby Horse Council and the Connecticut Farm Bureau. Terry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rosalie (Bernat) Martin; two sons Mark and his wife Susan Martin of Cromwell, and Patrick and his wife Sherriann Martin of Colchester; a sister Suzanne Hodio of Berlin; 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Terance W. Martin, Jr. Funeral services will be held Tuesday (Aug. 25, 2015) at 10:00AM at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association 5 Brookside Dr. Wallingford, CT 06492.
