Obituary of Frieda A. Whitaker

Frieda Ann Whitaker, of Kensington, beloved wife to John A. Whitaker, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2015. Frieda grew up in New Britain, daughter to the late Frieda and Julius Krenos (Nana and Pa). Frieda worked in the insurance industry for over 50 years, recently retiring from Travelers. Frieda was married to her best friend John, and together they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in October. She is survived by her loving sisters Nadine Schrey, and Juliann Hammer, and her two brothers- in-law, Robert Hammer and Kenneth Turner. She is predeceased by her sister Christine Turner and brother-in-law Thomas Schrey Sr. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews Lisa Lennehan, Thomas Schrey Jr., Gaylan Wurst, Brett Turner and Matthew Hammer. Frieda also leaves behind 14 great-nieces and nephews who were the joys of her life. Her kind heart, outgoing personality, and zest for life will be dearly missed and treasured forever. Calling hours will be held Friday (July 17th) from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain followed by a prayer service at 8:00 PM. Burial will be private.
