Genevieve (Rascoe) Bigley, 83, of New Britain and formerly of Kensington died August 15, 2008 at an area convalescent home. She was the devoted wife of the late Vincent J. Bigley, as they cared for each other throughout their ailments. Born in Plattsburgh, NY, she had lived most of her life in Kensington and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in East Berlin. Prior to her retirement, she was a para-professional with the New Britain School System. She is survived by her two daughters, Judy Palmere of New Britain and Mary and her husband Daniel Willametz of Berlin, four grandchildren, Scott and Tracey Palmere and Kaitlyn and Korin Willametz, two great grandchildren, Brian and Nicole Palmere, her sister Veronica Giguere and brothers Kenneth and Herman Rascoe, all of Plattsburgh, NY.; She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Louise Lalla of Florida.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq., New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Cottage St., East Berlin. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-8 PM.
