Obituary Catherine (Doran) Marsh, age 103, of New Britain died Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at St. Mary Home, West Hartford. She was the widow of John A. Marsh. Born in New Britain, February 23, 1905, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Mary (Cronin) Doran. She lived in New Britain all of her life until the summer of 2004 when she moved to Mercyknoll in West Hartford. Before her retirement in 1970 she was a bearing inspector for Fafnir Bearing. She was a member of the New Britain Seniors and Ladies Ancient Order of Hebernians, where she held the position of Master of Arms. She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Thibeault of West Hartford and Dorothy Mikulak of Plainville. Nine grandchildren, Marilyn Hyner, Judy Thibeault, Kathleen Hopkins, Barbara Rowland, Joanne Durling, Patricia Franzosa, Robert Thibeault, Mary McCloskey and Frank Mikulak. 14 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two children, Robert Hopkins and Kathleen Roberts, four grandchildren, Ronald, Donald and Brian Roberts and Robert Hopkins and great granddaughter Laurie Hopkins. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 AM at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq., New Britain with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM at St. Peter Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercyknoll, 243 Steele Rd., West Hartford, CT. 06117.
