My deepest sympathy to the family of Mrs. Funari. Kate, I will miss our lunches and especially our talks, we sure had some good laughs. You always spoke so highly of your children and grandchildren. May you rest in peace now with the angels. You were a woman of great faith and humbleness. You will be in my thoughts forever.

I had the complete honor and pure joy of working with Kate for more than a decade at Bel-Air Manor. Kate was the best Director of Nursing Bel-Air Manor ever had. In my capacity as Director of Admissions/Social Services, Kate and I worked closely every single day together, serving the lovely residents and making sure their quality of life was met. It was rare that these two roles worked well together, but we did so cohesively...because it was so easy to work with Kate.
She was like "my second mom" and I would often refer to her as such. We were very close and remained friends throughout the years. She was friendly, professional, courteous, loveable, and fun...with a positive outlook in all aspects of life.
Kate had a "look" that she'd give when she was serious about something, and wanted out attention instantly. She'd stop and peer over her glasses with that "look" and you knew you were in for it if you'd go any further.
We kidded her about the "look" and she appreciated our joshing with her. She called many of us at work her "children" and when we got the "look" from "mom" we'd stop on a dime!
She will be missed, heck I miss her already, just knowing I'll not speak to her again in this lifetime. But, I'll hold her in my heart forever, and although those left behind will feel a great gaping hole, we of faith know she is in peace, happy, and as beautiful as ever in heaven with our Father...
Farewell Kate, until we meet again...
With Much love,
Camille~

To Kate's family, We're so sorry to have learned of Kate's passing. My hubby and I just spoke with her recently and she sounded so good, and still had such a sweet beautiful young voice. I loved your mom so much, she was a joy, and working with her was one of the best decades of my life. I will keep her in my heart, and treasure the moments forever until we meet again one day in the future. Our deepest heartfelt sympathy to all of you (children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, in-laws) at this difficult time. She loved all of you and was proud of each and every one of you... you brought endless joy and love to her, don't forget that. God bless you all~ "Mary, my heart goes out to you especially..."

We are heartbroken to learn of cousin Katie's passing. So many years of fantastic memories flood the mind - from her days dating my "Cuz" Henry, to the birth of their 4 wonderful children, holidays spent together ... and SO MUCH more. The monthly "cousin" lunch meetings at Bertucci's in Newington brought great joy. Our prayers and sincere sympathy to Mary, Michael, Lisa, Henry, Grace and their families! Love, cousins, Maryann and Dom Ferrara, Tucson, AZ
