Obituary of Ernestine Mucciaro

OBITUARIES Ernestine (Sidoti) Mucciaro, 102, loving mother of Joseph J. Mucciaro, Jr. and his wife Josephine, and wife of the late Joseph J. Mucciaro, Sr., died July 12, 2008, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. We firmly believe she is now numbered among the angels. Ernestine was born Sept. 19, 1905 in Floridia, Provence of Syracusa, Italy and came to America as a toddler. The family settled in Winsted and moved to New Britain in 1918. In 1970, after 45 years of service, Ernestine retired from Southern New England Telephone Co having worked as Group Chief Operator and Supervisor. Flowers and yard work were her lifelong passion. In retirement she became an active traveler with the "Y" trippers, joyfully sang with the AARP Singers and put her skills to work with the "Y" Knit Nits. We are grateful for the companionship and care Ernestine received from Zanna Kuzniecova, Zofia Urban, Stanislawa Lozowski, and Krystyna Dankowska. She was loved Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Church, New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
