Dear Sheila and Family: I was a classmate of Mike in St. Mary's School from 2nd through 6th grade (a long time ago!)...we were good friends then, and while we didn't see each other but occasionally over the years since, it was always a true pleasure to run into Mike on the street, at a sporting event (my son Jake also goes to Xavier) or at NU, where I do some consulting work... Mike will never change in my mind...he will always remain that very friendly and kind kid who lit up a room or a conversation with his honest and straight forward personality ... I will miss our far too infrequent encounters and a chance to go back in time to a place where we were good friends and had so much fun ... Mike had a great way with people and I was lucky to have known him ... I'm sure that the many fond memories of life with Mike will sustain you in your time of extreme grief ... if there's ever anything I can do to help you or your family it would be my pleasure to do that for you and for Mike.... God Bless You, Jay Malcynsky PS: I was away when I learned of Mike's passing and was unable to attend the wake and say this to you personally...

Michael was a great guy. There was always a wonderful quiet strength about him that I always admired, as I knew him in both professional and social life. He will be missed but always remembered

Sheila and Travis, We want to extend our deepest sympathy to you and all Mike's family for his loss. Mike's passing will have an impact on all at NU. Seeing his smiling face as we passed him in the hallway (and maybe getting a quick joke in) as we all went about our day, was enjoyed by many. We hope that memories of all the happier times you all shared with Mike, will provide you comfort during this very sad time. May God Bless You All, Steve and Sue
