Obituary of Edward E. Lepke

Edward Emil Lepke (Eddy), age 55 of New Britain, CT died peacefully on December 19, 2014, surrounded by his loved ones at Hartford Hospital. He was a master carpenter that navigated his work with great detail and passion, creating and renovating beautiful space. Edward was a lover of nature; spending much of his life having adventures with his family, hunting and skiing in the woods and hills of Vermont and fishing and exploring he ocean Rhode Island. He leaves a legacy of strength and courage, a leader "with a heart of gold", always embracing others with acceptance. He is survived by his mother, Stefanie Lepke of New Britain, CT and predeceased by his father Emil Edward (Sonny) Lepke, his younger brother Steven Lepke and his wife Mary of Wakefield, MA. beloved daughter, Jennifer Lepke and granddaughter Ameilie Lepke-Young of Brooklyn, NY, his daughter Elizabeth Thorstenson of Brooklyn, CT, his steps-son Shawn Crahan of Pittsfield, MA and Ryan Crahan of New Hartford, CT. His Aunt Hildegard and her husband Benno Kohlmann of New Britain, CT. his aunt Maria Jauk of New York, NY and several nieces and nephews and cousin. The Lepke family feels great gratitude for the friends and community that offered support. Friends and family are welcome to join us at the services held 9:00 AM on Monday December 22, 2014 at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Square, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Peter Church 98 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Peter's Church, New Britain, CT.
