Obituary of Alfreda H. Cyr

OBITUARIES Alfreda H. Cyr, 78, of New Britain, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut at New Britain General. She was the widow of Reno Cyr. Born in Van Buren, ME, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Catherine (Martin) Violet and lived most of her life in New Britain. She was a member of St. Mary Church and had been employed at Fafnir Bearing and New Britain Centerless. She will be missed by all those that will affectionately remember her usual greeting of, "Hey you there." Mrs. Cyr is survived by her three sons, Michael Cyr and his wife Elizabeth of West Hartford, Richard Cyr and his wife Elaine of Kensington and Reno Cyr, Jr. and his wife Linda of Bristol, 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; sisters Shirley and Eva Violet both of Van Buren, ME, and a brother Robert Violet and his wife Mona, also of Van Buren, ME and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cyr was predeceased by a daughter, Rita Julia. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church, New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Friends may call at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq., New Britain on Friday evening from 5:00-8:00 PM.
