Aunt Jeannette and Dear cousins: Tom, Mary Ann, David, Richard and Danny, We will always remember Uncle Alberts stories and his smiling, dancing eyes. He was the last connection to our own dad, Sal, and he will be sorely missed. His dedication to the Iwo Jima memorial serves as a permenant reminder to all of us just how much our military sacrificed and are still sacrificing today. May God Bless you all and keep you safe in his arms. Donna (D'Amico), Al and Lizzy Doyker

To the D'Amico family, We have but a few wonderful memories with our Great Uncle Albert compared to the amazing 61 years of his loving wife and those of his children and grand children - but those we have we will cherish always. Specifically I recall him being in the Hospital when we were having a 9/11 Memorial Ceremony at our Fire Dept. in Somers and had wanted him to be there so we could honor him as an Iwo Jima Survivor - thinking he would not make it - he showed up anyway on that hot day and saluted the flag with his friend Fred who we think snuck him out of the hospital to be there. It was also an honor for him to show us the Iwo Jima Memorial that he put forth so much time and effort into. And most recently - we watched him march in a parade - which he told us would be "his last parade". He could have been driven in a vehicle that hot day - but he insisted on marching and holding that huge American Flag with his buddies. He was a hero to us - and it was a gift having him around for nearly 20 years after my own Nono Sal (his brother) had passed away. My all of his days in heaven be fine Navy Days, with calm winds and following seas. Sarah (SVFD), Baby Angelina, and Mark (ETC/SS USS Memphis)
