Obituary of Joseph C. Marieni

Obituary Joseph C. Marieni, 91, of New Britain, died Tuesday morning at Walnut Hill Convalescent Home. Born in New Britain, the son of Carlo and Maria (Bonola) Marieni, he was a life long resident. He was the owner and operator of the Community Grocery Store in New Britain for many years. He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army and was a member of St. Joseph's Church. Mr. Marieni is survived by his wife Josephine (Marzi) Marieni, a brother Geno and his wife Olga Marieni of Granby, three sisters-in-law Audrey Marieni and Clara Marzi both of New Britain, and Tina Marzi of Berlin and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Mario A. Marieni. Funeral services will be held Friday 8:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Square with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church 195 So. Main St. New Britain. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the VNA and Hospice of New Britain and the staff at the Walnut Hill Convalescent Home for their special care of Joe.
