Obituary of Alice Kern

OBITUARIES Alice Kern, 74, of New Britain, died Thursday morning at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain,. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Louis and Rose (Ficko) Kern, she was life long resident and had been employed for many years at Emhart. She was a life long member of St. Peter Church and was well known as a generous contributor to various charities. Alice is survived by her sister Dorothy and her husband Paul Bernatchy of Southington, a brother in law Frank Vitale of New Britain, a sister in law Caroline Kern of New Britain and her best friend Grace Chelchowaska of Farmington and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best friends, Lady and Iris. Funeral services will be held Saturday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter Church 98 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain.
