Obituary of Irene E. Pabst

Irene Pabst, 86, of New Britain and Old Saybrook, died Thursday Night at the Middlesex Hospital in Middletown after a short illness. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Miller) Nelson she lived all her live in New Britain and spent her summers in Old Saybrook. She was a former employee of the Stanley Works. Her favorite hobby was the many years she spent playing the piano and entertaining in several convalescent homes. Irene is survived by her daughter Jean Gay and her husband Bernie, her sister Helen Nelson of New Britain and Old Saybrook, two granddaughters Molly Gay, and Emily Walden and her husband Michael, a grandson Andy Gay, and a great grandson Kason Walden. Funeral services will be held Monday 1:00 P.M. at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin sq. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Irene's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Hospice Unit of the Middlesex Hospital for their care and attention to Irene.
