OBITUARIES
Angelina "Angie" (Cecere Zawadsky) Garofano, 93, of New Britain, died Friday at an area convalescent home. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late James and Filimina (Testa) Cecere, she was the widow of the late John Joseph Garofano, who died Mar. 28, 1999. She worked many years at Weiner's Shoe Store and Raphael's Department Store and retired from Fafnir Bearing Company. She was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church.
Mrs. Garofano is survived by two daughters Maryann and her husband Dom Ferrara of Kensington, Katherine and her husband Rev. Richard Oberg of New York, her grandchildren Kimberly and her husband William Quealy of Plainville, her granddaughter in law Noelle Ferrara of Meriden, Eric Oberg, Peter Oberg, and Kerstin Oberg Guarnaccia and her husband Tony, her great grandchildren Jason, Garrett, Kayla, and Andrew Quealy of Plainville,Lisa, Heather and John Ferrara of Meriden, Jeremiah Guarnaccia of RI her nephews Jim Cecere and his wife Diane of Vermont, and Daniel Gladowski of New Britain; two nieces Diane Lemaire of Berlin and Sandra Welsh of MA, two grand nephews Eric Lemaire and Scott Lemaire.She also leaves a very special cousin Theresa Silas and her husband Al of Southington. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Zawadsky and her grandson John C. Ferrara.
Funeral services will be held Monday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Church (corner of East St. and Newington Ave.) New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Monday morning 9:30 A.M. until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq.
