Obituary of Stella Parr

OBITUARIES Stella (Doucette) Parr, 90, of Canton (formerly of New Britain) died Monday May 14, 2007 after a brief illness. Stella was born February 10, 1917 in Grand Isle, Maine, the daughter of the late Emile and Laura (Cyr) Doucette. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years Roland J. "Jack" Parr. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother of 7. She was a longtime resident of New Britain before moving to Canton. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in New Britain for many years. Stella worked at the Underwood Typewriter Co. in Hartford and later worked for Stanley Works from which she retired. Stella loved her needlework and was an avid quilter spending many hours making beautiful quilts and afghans for her loving children and grandchildren. Mrs. Parr is survived by two sons Philip and his wife Donna of Collinsville and Michael and his wife Joann Parr of Hebron; her daughter Renee and her husband Ron Marquis of East Granby; seven grandchildren, Kevin Parr, Sarah Parr, Jessica Parr, David Parr, Steven Parr, Veronica Marquis, and Jimmy Marquis, two sisters Germaine Corbin and Lucienne Levesque of Maine and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Celina Swift and two brothers Paul Doucette and Leon Doucette. Funeral services will be held Friday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery Garden Mausoleum. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis Church 1755 Stanley St. New Britain, CT 06053.
