Obituary of Carey Richard P

CAREY: Richard P. Carey, 48, husband of Deniseann (Gebala) Carey of New Britain, died Sunday, July 16, 2006 at his home. Born in Hartford, son of the late Francis P. and Jennie (Recor) Carey, he was employed by the City of New Britain, Central Administration for 28 years, retiring in 2000. He was an active member of the Retiree�s Chapter #4 of AFSCME, the New Britain Area Seniors, the CT. ARA, and was a mentor with the Mentor Program for the City of New Britain. He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Besides his beloved wife of 34 years, he is survived by his sister and her husband, Gail and Brian Joyce of Lookout Mt., GA., and several nieces and nephews including his Godchildren, Gabriella, Tanya, and Harvey Jr., 2 sisters-in-law, Marie and Harvey Cheatham Sr., of New Britain, and Joan Birmingham, of Little Rock, AR. He was predeceased by his brother George F. Carey. Friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial Thursday 10 A.M., at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1755 Stanley St., New Britain.
