OBITUARIES
Donald J. Doyle,80, of New Britain, died Friday Night at home. Born and raised in Waterbury, the son of the late Clarence and Julia (Lynch) Doyle, he came to New Britain in the early 1950�s and was employed for many years as a senior underwriter at The Travelers, retiring in 1986. Donald was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, the New Britain Elks Lodge #957, the Stanley Golf Course Men�s Club and was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland, the Battle of the Bulge and earned the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and two Purple Hearts.
Donald is survived by his wife Virginia (Lockwood) Doyle, a daughter Virginia and her husband Ozzie Crandall of East Hartford, four sons Donald J. and his wife Jean Doyle of Clinton, Thomas A. and his wife Cheryl Doyle of Terryville, David and his wife Sonia Doyle of Plainville and James E. and his wife Paula Doyle of Bristol; his grandchildren Bridget Doyle-Kusy and her husband Bill of New Britain, Daniel, Jennifer and Ryan Doyle of Terryville, Christine and Katherine Doyle of Avon, Nathan and Julia Doyle of Plainville and Sarah Doyle of Bristol; a sister Eileen Jackson of Vernon, two brothers William Doyle and his wife Mary of Waterbury and Cal Doyle and his wife Nancy of Virginia. He was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Robert Doyle, Edward Doyle, and Barbara Doyle
Funeral services will be held Thursday 10:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Church Stanley St. New Britain. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Connecticut VNA Hospice 111 Founders Plaza East Hartford, CT
