OBITUARIES
Paul J. Routhier, 87, formerly of Farmington, died Thursday Morning at Plainville HealthCare. He was married to Kathleen (Saunders) Routhier for sixty four years, who died Dec. 21, 2005. Born in New Britain the son of the late Gedeon and Leonie (Valliere) Routhier, he lived in New Britain and Unionville and most of his life in Farmington. He was employed at
New Britain Machine for many years retiring in 1981 and was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran. He was a past Selectman in Farmington, a past President of the Farmington Seniors, a Past Commander of the American Legion #32 in Unionville and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in New Britain.
Mr. Routhier is survived by his son Laurence Routhier of New Britain, his daughter Patricia Derech and her husband William Derech, Sr., of Wethersfield, his grandchildren Elizabeth and her husband Paul Thompson of Wethersfield, William Derech, Jr. of Rocky Hill; two great grandchildren Olivia Thompson and Ian Thompson, a special friend Martin Gauthier and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Julian Routhier and two sisters Margaret Dupont and Theresa Tatro.
Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at
St. Maurice Church 100 Wightman Road New Britain. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Hospice c/o Visiting Nurse Association
