OBITUARIES John Joseph Basso, 83, of Bristol, died Friday at Bristol Hospital. Born in March 22, 1922 in New Britain, the son of the late John and Mary (Beaudine) Basso, he attended New Britain Schools and, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a sonarman. He graduated from Porters�s Tool and Machine Design and worked TRW-MRC in Plainville, retiring after thirty five years in the tool and dye room. He was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Basso leaves behind his wife of fifty five years, Phyllis (Hartery) Basso, four daughters Tracy Genovese of Farmington, Sandra Basso and Paula Basso of Bristol and Deborah Benway of West Haven. He is also survive by six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Friends and family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. at St. Peter Church 98 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain.
