Obituary of Grayce Wood

OBITUARIES Grayce M. (McAvay) Wood, 85, of New Britain, died Monday at an area convalescent home. Born in New Britain and a life long resident, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Grace McAvay. Her first husband Lester Barnes and her second husband Grant Wood predeceased her. She attended local schools and was employed for over forty years at United Technologies. She was a summer resident of Westbrook for many years and was a parishioner of St. Mary Church in New Britain. Grayce is survived by two sisters, her best friend Marion Vojtila of New Britain, and Anne Was of Southington, several nieces and nephews including Sharon Vojtila and a special grand niece Alexandra Vojtila.She was predeceased by a sister Catherine McAvay. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10:30 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Square with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary Church Main St. New Britain. Burial will be private.
