Obituary of Mary Tumolo

Mary (Formica) Tumolo, 93, a lifelong resident of New Britain, died Tuesday (Sept.9,2014) at an area convalescent home. She was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Vincenza (Dipace) Formica. Her beloved husband, Stephen Tumolo, died Sept. 20, 2010. She had been employed for many years at Stanley Works, was a member of St. Jerome Church, the Italian Fraternal Society and had also worked at Brittany Farms HealthCare (now Aurora Senior Living of New Britain) for 25 years.
Mrs. Tumolo is survived by three daughters Rosemary and her husband James Wodecki of New Britain, Christine Tumolo of East Hartford and Stephanie and her husband Larry Steisel of East Hartford; seven grandchildren, Dan and his wife Denise Wodecki, Tim and his wife Gina Wodecki, Stephen and his wife Jacquelyn Ouellette, Bryan Ouellette and his fiance' Ashley Sahadi, David Ouellette, Ken and his wife Beata Tumolo and Dan Tumolo and his fiance' Eliza Troana; eleven great grandchildren, Jordan, Alexis and Jalen Wodecki, Landon and Abigal Ouellette, Matthew, Nick and Jon Tumolo and Giuliana and Samantha Wodecki; sister Josephine Stumpo of Cromwell; sisters in law Joanna Formica of Portland and Mae Garaffa of Philadelphia. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Daniel Tumolo and two brothers Salvatore Formica and Ralph Formica.
Funeral services will be held Friday (Sept.12,2014) 10:00 AM from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Jerome Church 1010 Slater Road New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be today (Thursday) from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
