Obituary of Stanley R. Wolak

Stanley R. Wolak, 95, of New Britain, died Friday (Aug. 1, 2014) at an area convalescent home. Born in Depew, New York, he lived most of his life in New Britain. For many years he owned and operated the Whitestone Double Security Alarm Business and later was employed at the New Britain Furniture Store. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, was very active at the New Britain YMCA, even in his 95th year and was a World War II Army Air Force Veteran. Early in his life, he enjoyed performing Magic Shows at family events. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Ann (Piecuch) Wolak, who died July 1, 2013. Stanley is survived by his daughter Bonnie LaPorte and her husband Rocco of Berlin, two granddaughters Lauren and Kristen La Porte of Berlin; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers Adam Wolak, William Wolak and Marcel Wolak and a sister Jennie Hudak. Funeral services will be held Monday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church 655 East St. New Britain. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Monday from 8:00 AM until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the YMCA 50 High St
