To the Campanario Family: Ron was a wonderful and dedicated teacher, with a great personality. Both our sons benefited greatly from his teaching and talents. Both sons also took private music lessons from Ron and were in the Spartan Band (1995-1997), and our younger son was also in the select ensemble. He inspired those whose lives he touched, and we are thankful that our sons had the privilege of having him as their teacher. Our sincerest sympathy, Ray & Anna Jarema

My condolences go out to the family of the much beloved Mr. Campanario - I too had him as a teacher/band director in Hubbard School and then McGee in the early 70's - I tell my kids about him, how funny he was (throwing his baton across the room when we sounded terrible) and how valued he managed to make each student feel. It was so long ago, but as clear as this day I remember his signature in my 8th grade year book (now long gone), "To my best little french horn player" We won't talk much about how most of the time I was his only french horn player, but as I am raising my middle schooler, this reminds me of the impact of being made to feel special and capable of achieving more with even a couple of kind heartfelt words. I'm so sorry for your loss and grateful to have been taught by such a gifted human being.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Phyllis and the Family during these trying times. The days I spent with Ron in high school are some of my fondest memories. He was one of the my dearest Friends during that time...you couldn't ask for a better. We had many, many laughs, and he was one of my Brothers in Music. A gentle and giving soul he was. I'll never forget driving him to the airport to go off to college...it actually was a little sad that I wouldn't be in his company in school any longer. But he went on to touch many students' hearts in his teachings and guidance. I will always hold him in my heart and never forget his contagious smile. RIP my Friend. David

Mr Campanario was one of my favorite teachers. I can still remember my first clarinet lesson with him at Willard School in one of the bookroom closets. I remember he always had a smile on his face or a funny joke to tell me. He expected that all his students could and would achieve in his classroom. He never gave up on any of us. Mr Camp encouraged his students to learn by his passion for teaching them. I will always have fond memories of him and these memories will inspire me in my profession as a teacher. When he was my teacher at McGee Middle School he taught me to appreciate music but also pushed me to be the best that I could be. The environment he created was enthusiastic, caring, and most importantly safe. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. May you rest in peace Mr Camp. You will never be forgotten.

My condolences on the death of Mr. Campy. May he rest in peace. I know the battle that he fought. He fought the good fight. I will always remember him and his pipe at all the end of school year parties at my parents and Fran's.

I was a student of Mr. Campanario's at McGee Middle School in the early 70's. He had such a profound impact on my life. The lessons I learned from him were not just about music, but about so many things in life. I may have not recognized those lessons at the time, but as I lived out my life, they would come back to me. He was always kind and fair, and you knew he wasn't going to put up with any nonsense from a middle school kid, and I respected that. Mr. Campanario was also so kind and respectful to my mother Lucille who was an Administrative Assistant at McGee. She always talked about how he always treated her with kindness and respect. My thoughts and prayers are with your family, and know that his legacy lives on through the many student's lives he touched.
