Obituary of Mary Messenger

Mary R. (Bernardo) Messenger, 99, of New Britain died Tuesday, at the Jerome Home in New Britain. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Nello and Louise (Frugale) Bernardo, she was a lifelong resident. Her husband, Howard Messenger predeceased her. She had been employed for thirty two years at the Stanley Works and was a member of St. Ann's Church. Mrs. Messenger is survived by her brother Salvatore J. Bernardo, her nephew John Bernardo; and her grandniece Sarah Louise Bernardo, all of New Britain. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters and brothers Julia Bernardo, Ann Bernardo, Rose Bernardo, Carl Bernardo, John Bernardo and a sister in law Katherine Bernardo. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11:00 AM at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
