Obituary of Florence Garner

Florence J. (Gagliardi) Garner, 89, of New Britain died Friday morning at the Countryside Manor in Bristol. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Camillo and Mary (Nesta) Gagliardi, she was a lifelong resident. She was employed for many years at CEDA Corp. in Newington. Among her hobbies, Florence enjoyed cooking for her family. Mrs. Garner is survived by a son George and his wife Clare Garner of Bristol, her daughter Linda and her husband James Peters of Glouchester Point Virginia; a sister Theresa Glownia of Kensington, a brother Alfred and his wife Joan Gagliardi of Kensington; four grandchildren Michael and his wife Amanda Garner, Catherine Garner, Kristen Jahne and Derek Jahne; three great grandchildren Lauren, Nicholas and Jack; several nieces and nephews and her good friend of over 50 years Helen Gregory. Funeral services will be held Monday 9:00 AM from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church 195 So. Main St. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The Garner family would like to thank the staff of Countryside Manor for their care and attention to Florence.
