Frank J. Andrus, age 91 of Kennesaw, GA, died Friday, December 6, 2013. A private mass was held Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Kennesaw. GA. In Connecticut a visitation will be Saturday, December 14, 2013 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, CT, followed by graveside services at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Cemetery in New Britain, CT. Born in New Haven CT, Mr. Andrus grew up with five siblings, he was a loving husband and devoted father. He was a US Marine who served his county during WWII in the Pacific and was a strong Christian. He worked at Chance Vought Aircraft, Emerson TV, and Pratt and Whitney before retiring in 1987. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching baseball, listening to music, and going to airshows. He is predeceased by his wife Kathryn Connolly Andrus, who he met at a big band concert in Bristol CT and married in 1952. Mr. Andrus is survived by two sons and two daughter-in-laws, Jim and Joyce Andrus of Eureka, MO and David and D.J. Andrus of Acworth, GA., his sister Julie Adams of Connecticut and his sister-in law, Dorothy Connolly of Kennesaw, GA. 3 grandchildren, Sam Andrus, Beth Andrus, and Jen Andrus of Acworth, GA, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was a great man that will be missed very much by his family and all that knew him. During the last years of his life he required frequent blood transfusions that allowed him to stay strong and be with his family. If it were not for the Blood Services of the American Red Cross this wouldn't have been possible.
