Elizabeth Guzauskas, 86 of New Britain, died Thursday, October 17th, 2013. She was born in Granby, a daughter of the late William and Catherine Guzauskas. Liz lived most of her life in New Britain but toward the latter part, she made her home at the Ledgecrest Nursing Home in Kensington. There she was lovingly cared for by the devoted staff. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. Her passions were spending time with family, playing cards (she always won) and playing Bingo. She will be missed by many. She leaves her brothers Martin Guzauskas and his wife Lou, and Raymond Guzauskas and his wife Revlon. A loving aunt, Liz is also survived by her nieces Sharon "Sheri" Cyr and her husband Philip, Debbie Hoffman and her husband Peter, Kathy Nappi and Maureen Mas as well as many more nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Liz was predeceased by five sisters: Rose Zack, Helen Nappi, Josephine Winar, Julia Foster, and Amy Koscuk and one brother Stanley Guzauskas. Funeral services will be held Wednesday (Oct. 23, 2013) with a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church (corner of East St. and Newington Ave.) New Britain. Burial will be private in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain.
