Obituary of Peter Leon Fusari
Peter Leon Fusari, 82, of New Britain, died peacefully on August 5, 2024. Peter was an honest, loyal, kind, easy-going man with striking pale blue eyes.
A lifelong resident of New Britain, Peter graduated from New Britain High School and was a US Army Veteran of six years. He was stationed at Virginia Beach during the Vietnam War era. He was previously employed as an inspector at Fafnir Bearing Inc., for 27 years. Peter was an early skydiver with the Connecticut Parachutists Inc., holding 635 jumps, and was the first skydiver in Ellington, CT, airport. In his earlier years he enjoyed hiking, camping and whitewater canoeing. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed football and NASCAR.
Peter leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Joanne, his daughter, Leah Fusari-Hodges and her wife, Kristi of Massachusetts; his stepson Darrell Grejdus of New Britain, his step grandson, Alexander Grejdus of Southington along with Alex’s siblings, Austin, Iris and Penelope Julian; his sister, Joy Vetre of Middletown; his niece Hope Langdon nephew Art Langdon, and numerous friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Joan Bishop and niece Brenda Bishop of New Hampshire.
Funeral services will be held Thursday (Aug. 8, 2024) at 11:00AM at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Thursday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
