I first met Jeanette back in the 1980s when we were both on the Board of Big Brothers/Big Sisters in New Britain. We discovered we had common friends and shared our Italian heritage. The most memorable event was a trip to Sicily in 1995 with a delegation from New Britain to our sister city. We laughed with Betty Elia and Barbara Kirejczyk from the time we got on the plane until we landed back home. I will always remember her smile, her warmth and her sense of humor.
