Obituary of Viola K. Stenger
Viola Florence (Kotsch) Stenger, 100, of Glastonbury, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 2, 2024. She was the wife of the late Stephen J. Stenger, Jr.
Born on Mother’s Day, May 13, 1923 in Manchester, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Samuel and Anna (Bensche) Kotsch. Viola graduated from Manchester High School Class of 1941. She started her working career at Cheney Mills where she met the love of her life Steve. She finished her career in 1995 at Associated Construction Company after 25 years of dedicated service.
She treasured her time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren including her family trips to Walt Disney World and her many times on Tower of Terror. She was an avid reader, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and a good game of Candy Crush.
She is survived by her children, Stephen J. Stenger, III, and his wife Denise of Manchester; Valerie Roath and her husband Michael of Colchester and Claudia Fiducia and her husband Angelo of Berlin. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeffrey Roath, Matthew Roath, Olivia (Fiducia) Farrell and her husband Michael and Joseph Fiducia and his wife Laura and her three great grandchildren, Louis Michael Farrell, Samantha Viola Farrell and Olivia Grace Fiducia.
She is also survived by her sister Irene Schack and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Samuel and Walter Kotsch.
Funeral services for Viola will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at The Lutheran Church of Saint Mark, 75 Griswold Street, Glastonbury, CT. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, 240 East Center Street, Manchester, CT. Family and friends are invited to a visitation Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Square, New Britain, CT.
