Obituary of Homer Q. White
Homer Q White, 67, of New Britain, peacefully passed away on Dec 24th surrounded by his wife and children, after a short battle following complications from surgery.
Homer was born on August 13th 1956 to James White and Noma Norman in Shreveport Louisiana and raised in New Orleans. Homer met the love of his life, Leslie, while bartending in Washington DC. Homer was father to Courtney White 33, Taylor White 29, and Riley White 23.
Homer spent the last 20 plus years as a very active member of the New Britain community, serving as a member of the RTC, holding roles on various commissions and supporting numerous political campaigns. Homer retired from The Hartford after 20 years of service. Homer was a lover of music, food, art, wood working and good times.
Homer is survived by his wife, children, brother - Robert White, son-in-law Colin Elliott, father and mother-in-law Francis and Patricia Maerz, brother-in-law Greg Maerz, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Homer’s family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Hartford Hospital for care they provided Homer during his stay.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday January 2nd 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00PM at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. A Prayer Service for Homer will be held on Wednesday January 3rd at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
