Obituary of Bruce Carl Strong

Bruce Carl Strong, 72 of East Hampton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, the 28th of September. Bruce was born in Middletown, CT and Graduated from East Hampton High School. He was married to his wife, Maureen (Maurice) Strong for over 40 years and was predeceased by his parents R. Davis Strong and Emma (Elgert) Strong.
Bruce was a devoted father, a member of the East Hampton Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served as a Council Member and taught Sunday School for many years. After years working long hours in factories, he was blessed to spend the years prior to his retirement working for Wesleyan University. His true passion was his involvement in local sports. Bruce was an umpire and referee for as many sports as he could fit into his schedule along with coaching little league and park and rec sports when his sons were younger. Bruce’s love of sports included being a New York Yankees fan for all his life, when a game was on TV, Bruce was there!
Bruce is survived by his wife, Maureen (Maurice), and his three sons, Parker and his wife Alicia of Portland, Joshua and his wife Kate of Cromwell, and Wesley of Easthampton, MA, additionally Bruce is survived by his grandchildren, Cooper and Taylor of Portland.
Bruce was from a large family and is survived by his siblings, Ralph, Carol, Paul, Laura and Tim and was predeceased by his brother Tommy.
Services for Bruce will be held at the convenience of the family with a Memorial in the spring.
