Obituary of Aniela Misteri

Aniela “Nell” Misteri, 94, of Berlin and Old Lyme, CT, died Thursday (Sept. 1, 2022) at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain.
Born in New Britain, she lived most of her life in Berlin. A former employee at the Department of Transportation for the State of Connecticut, she was a longtime parishioner of St. Paul's Church, a member of the weaving group at the Berlin Senior Center, and a big fan of Red Sox Baseball and the Women’s UCONN Huskies.
She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Harry, son Harry Paul, her parents Jacob and Aniela (Wozniak) Gacek, brothers John, Peter, Edward and Jacob, as well as sister Irene.
Nell is survived by her two daughters, Lynn Misteri, and Cynthia and her husband Frank Magisano, all of Berlin; her grandson Geoffrey and his wife, Allisa Magisano; a great grandson Gino Francesco Magisano; several nieces and nephews, and her lifelong friends Faye and Edward Szczepanik.
Funeral services will be held Thursday (Sept. 8, 2022) 10:30 AM from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at St. Paul's Church 485 Alling St. Kensington. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery, Berlin. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Church.
