Obituary of Elmo R. Aiudi

Elmo R. Aiudi, 94, of New Britain, died Saturday (Aug 6, 2022) at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. Born in New Britain, the son of the late Alipio and Julia (Gregory) Aiudi, he was the owner and president of A. Aiudi & Sons Concrete, in Plainville. Elmo served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, was a member of St. Maurice Church, the Prince Thomas Savoy Club, the 100 Club, and the Marchegian Club. Mr. Aiudi is survived by his wife, Elaine (Dupuis) Aiudi, their children, Sandy and her husband Paul DiVincenzo, Steven and his wife Karen Aiudi, David Aiudi, Pamela and her husband Gene Genarelli, Christopher and his wife Barbara Aiudi, Janice Strasser, Alison and her husband Tom Stula, and former daughter in law Linda Aiudi; 15 grandchildren; a sister Lorraine Clark, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter Lauren Aiudi and son in law Kevin Strasser. Elmo was dynamic. He had a magnetic personality and an indefatigable constitution. His enthusiasm for the ready mix concrete business was infectious and he was a revered leader in the construction materials industry. He realized many close friendships through his business endeavors. Elmo was as steady as the sun rising and setting. He was a proud American and devoted father. He took great care of his own, but also contributed selflessly to his Church, his local community, and Italian American Organizations throughout Connecticut, where he maintained many friendships. He was well respected. He was well loved. He will be dearly missed. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday (August 13, 2022) at 10:00 AM at Saint Katharine Drexel Parish (St. Maurice Church ) 100 Wightman Road New Britain.
