Bill, So very sorry to read of your brother passing today in the COURANT. He was a wonderful man and a tremendous servant to the city of New Britain. We would talk when I lived next to you guys in New Britain. Me being on Texas Drive. I also would come across him in Berlin/ Kensington - where we both moved to. GOD gives us strength to face all of what we need to face on our earthly pilgrimage. You take care of yourself Bill. Bill, Nancy, Robby, and the rest of the family, you have our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy. Chief McCrann was the epitome of a fireman. A true leader who had the respect of all under his command. An honest and fair man, who led by example. His love of NBFD was second to none. How he loved the holidays, making sure we got the firehouse decorated, Patsy Cline music coming from his office, or just sitting down with a cup of coffee and talking with the guys! He will be missed! Rest In Peace my friend, Rod and Barb Nielson.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of our Chief. He was one of my mentors. His dream was to create the specialized Rescue Company. I had the honor of serving on it. He taught me how to be a Chief Officer in the department. I will be forever grateful to him for his leadership. My sincere condolences.
