Obituary of Maureen E. Guite

Maureen E. Guite, 79, of Berlin died Saturday (June 5, 2021) at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Peter and Eleanor (Cullum) Meligonis, she lived in Berlin most of her life. She was the wife of the late David Guite, who passed away Mar. 10, 2017. A graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in New Britain, she then went on to pursue a 30 year nursing career, after graduated from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1963. A long time active parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in East Berlin, she served as a Minister of the Eucharist and was a member of the Ladies Guild. Mrs. Guite is survived by two sons Alan and his wife Lee Housley of Berlin, Jay and his wife Mary Sue Guite of Berlin; four grandchildren Amber Guite, David Guite, Garrett Guite, and Ian Guite; her sister Audrey and her husband Robert Bushey of Westerly, RI; four nieces, a nephew and several cousins. Funeral services will be held Thursday (June 17, 2021) 9:00 AM from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 48 Cottage St. East Berlin, CT. Burial will follow in Maple Cemetery, Berlin. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
