I knew Peter quite well, a very long time past. His beautifully written obituary speaks to his life essence so perfectly, and brings so many long forgotten memories I have of him to the present moment. They are all sweet, and I am grateful for having known him and shared a part of his life as I did.
A part of his obituary speaks of his having read everything within his reach. I always felt he was driven to do this by his need to add to his deep well of knowledge...a cache he oft turned to in order to gather up the wisdom he dispelled for the benefit of others...those in need. This was a part of who he was as a truly compassionate man. One of my best memories is how, whenever I was travelling in his car, there would invariably be one or more books he had just obtained, and how we would discuss them at length, and how I always walked away at the journeys end a more enlightened individual. Peter effected many the same way.
He was a good man who knew the difference between right and wrong,
My thoughts are with Kathy and his children that he leaves to us.
